Case study
Background – An internal communication challenge
A company providing security services had developed a very effective branding that combined understated but impactful black and white photos with a minimalist logo. A recent merger, however, had complicated internal communications.
Process – Setting up a procedure
We thoroughly analysed the internal newsletter that was already present. As it was written by several different heads of departments who were anxious to highlight the work of their own teams, it suffered from a clear lack of consistency in terms of the style and length of the texts, and gave a blurred, disjointed image. Its primary aim was, however, to strengthen cohesion between workers, throughout the company.
Solution – Streamlining communication
Spelling, grammar and punctuation were corrected after a quick first reading. Further readings, in pairs, removed repetitions and redundancies, thereby balancing the different sections and smoothing out different styles to achieve a comprehensive, pleasant and lively tone.
Going the extra mile
Over time, through conversations together, communication became more fluid and consistent. Everyone bought into the procedure, and work was made easier for all as a result.
